My husband has been an alcoholic since the beginning of our marriage (8yrs).? I have always told him to keep his drinking outside the home to protect our children and family environment to the best as I could.? Recently, he has been coming home drunk, acting out, treating me horribly, and the kids.? They are scared and can't fingure out why daddy is being mean.? Also, they are old enough now (5yrs, and 7yrs old) to know when he is gone from the home too long.? Currently, my husband left early Tues morning, and hasn't been home since.?? The kids ask daily for him, want to call.? He won't return their phone calls.? My heart breaks for them, and I can't keep lying to them.? My husband does this on his "binge" cycles... disappears. I used to say, "daddy is on a business trip" but now they notice he isn't, because he didn't say goodbye to them, and he normally would call.? How do I explain to them what is going on??
