Our Madagascar Viewing Party : An Island Life

My kids loved the first 2 Madagascar movies and they can?t wait for Madagascar 3: Europe?s Most Wanted?which will open in theaters nationwide on June 8, 2012. I have to admit that even I?m looking forward to Madagascar 3. In my opinion, this movie series has done something that a lot of other kiddie movies have failed to do . . . they?ve made each new installment just as good if not better than the one before.

As a Children?s Claritin Mom Crew member, my family had the opportunity to host our very own Madagascar Movie Party complete with food and activities. Now how does Children?s Claritin and a movie party tie in together? Well, for us this means that Kiana can join the rest of the family snuggling up on the floor. You see, Kiana is allergic to ants. I?m not sure if it?s ant bites or ants in general but anytime she goes near one she breaks out in ugly looking hives. So to be on the safe side she?s usually banned from sitting on the living room floor. However, with Children?s Claritin I?m all set in case she has an allergic reaction.

To get ready for our viewing party we stocked up on some yummy snacks. Since we decided to do this during lunch time we decided to have corn dogs, chips, and popcorn. The kids were so excited!

We printed out some coloring pages we found on the internet. My girls love all types of art so I knew they would have a blast with this. They were so intent on getting their pictures just right that they almost forgot about the movie.

Then it was time for the main event. They grabbed their food, chose their places on the blanket, and snuggled in for the show. Our favorite part about the movies are the lovable characters and how they interact with each other. The way they laugh, disagree, and support each other shows that they?re a real family despite the fact that they?re all of a different species.

Want to throw your own Madagascar Viewing Party? Check out the Madagascar website for great party ideas and Madagascar themed activities or visit the Claritin Facebook page to download a Madagascar Activity Guide. While you?re there, enter to win a Madagascar themed home circus kit!

This post was written as part of the Children?s Claritin Moms Crew campaign and we were provided with complimentary items to host our party.
