NEW YORK - Shares of some top oil companies were down at the close of trading:
BP PLC fell $.11 or .3 percent, to $43.26.
Chevron fell $1.26 or 1.2 percent, to $103.49.
ConocoPhillips fell $.31 or .4 percent, to $75.05.
Exxon Mobil Corp. fell $.94 or 1.1 percent, to $83.88.
Marathon Oil Corp. fell $.40 or 1.3 percent, to $30.14.
